It’s up to the individual to assess and determine the safety of your practice considering your personal physical limitations. Keep in mind that yoga might be challenging at times, but it should never be painful. Listen to your body and adjust or modify any pose to make it more comfortable according to your personal limitations.
Make sure your exercise space is in a large well-lit area that is free from obstacles. Wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t inhibit movement. Stop exercising and consult your physician if you feel dizzy, faint, light-headed or if you experience any discomfort. You are in charge and only you know how it feels. Only you can monitor your condition during your workout. You are responsible for exercising within your limits and seeking attention and advice as appropriate. Never force or strain.
Best to consult with your doctor first if you have specific injuries or a disease.
If you are pregnant and would like to try yoga I recommend contacting a pregnancy yoga teacher or studio.
The techniques and suggestions presented in this yoga video are not intended to substitute for proper medical advice. Consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.
