Here is another video from a tape dated 2001 and is more BNSF action around Chillicothe IL.
We begin as the sun sets in Chillicothe and we see an eastbound Z train passing a waiting manifest. The Z has plenty of power in the form of three Dash 9s and an ATSF B40-8W. The manifest has two more Dash 9s and a B40-8. Later that night, another eastbound Z comes through town behind a mix of five locomotives. I don't know what train this was, but for a few years, it seemed to show up around the same time every night with a crazy mix of five locomotives. Tonight's edition is no exception, pulled by an ATSF GP60M, an MPI leased SD45 rebuild, a BN SD40-2, an LMX B39-8E, and a patched ex ATSF GP50. A little later, the M-GALGYI rolls into town behind a pair of CN SD75s. Another eastbound was next, a stacker pulled by a BN SD40-2, an LMX B39-8E, and an ex ATSF GP60. It must have been the night for eastbound trains, another Z is next with another colorful consist, two H2 Dash 9s helped by an ex ATSF SD45-2 and an SD75I. On another night in the same place, the five locomotive Z train is seen flying through town with old and new locomotives- an H2 Dash 9, an ex ATSF GP50, 2 ATSF B40-8Ws, and another ex ATSF GP50.
A few days later, I shot another M-GALGYI which was a favorite in the post Illinois Central world. An SD75I leads a C40-8W and an LMS C40-8W. A westbound Z is next rushing for the west coast in true ATSF style. Four Superfleet 4 axle units, a B40-8W GP60B and two GP60Ms, have been doing this job for eleven years when I shot this. A pair of LMX B39-8Es pull the next train, an eastbound stack, by a stopped manifest that we will see in a moment. Soon the manifest gets moving when the crew gets a clear signal at East Chillicothe. Warbonnet repaint B40-8W 557 is paired with ex ATSF SD40-2 6892.
