Shopping for Native Plants & Exploring my Butterfly Garden are My Favorite Gardening Things to Do

Florida gardening is such a fun activity and filled with adventure and discovery. In this video, I bring you along to my local native plant nursery where I drop off some Pentas plants and then take you shopping with me. We peruse through their fabulous selection of native plants and I choose a few wildflowers and host plants to purchase for my backyard garden. Upon returning home, we take a walk through my butterfly garden and do a little exploring. I share some of the new blooms in my Florida Native Wildflower garden and we stop and look at some protective measures I have put in place to help my swamp milkweed regrowth thrive. We look at all of the flowers and peek in on a few adorable Monarch caterpillars. Then, I take you inside my garden room to show you how well my seedlings are growing. Finally, we look at some new seed packets that I ordered online. It’s another fun Florida gardening video that I am excited to share with you.

I live in Florida and I am in gardening zone 10a. I have turned my entire backyard into a butterfly garden and I love sharing the day to day details with you in the hopes of inspiring you to plant or expand your own butterfly garden. I encourage the use of pollinator friendly native plants that provide enough diversity to create a complete ecosystem that supports all phases of the butterfly lifecycle. I provide education about host plants, nectar plants and a variety of caterpillars and butterflies as well as other pollinators. Every new backyard butterfly garden puts a little habitat back on our planet and it also creates a world of wonder right outside your backdoor.
