@WanderlustMAX I spend 2 days and 2 nights tent camping in full hookup loop at Deschutes River State Recreation Area near The Dalles, Rufus and Wasco Oregon. It's mid April and the climate is favorable, although quite windy. I spend time with the park host, Pam and make commentary about what its like camping at the campground. There is a loud train that wakes people up at night. I walk about 6 and a half miles down the canyon on either side. I encounter a rattlesnake and a desert fox. I fly the drone in the canyon to get breathtaking views all the while admiring the vast diversity of birds in the canyon.
There are plenty of obstacles such as barbed wire and fences. I found some artifacts from the pioneer days.
I make commentary about the geology along the canyon. I capture unique perspectives of the canyon and its scenery. I use a GoPro for underwater shots, a OSMO pocket 3 for commentary and a DJI 4k mini drone for cinematic shots.
At night I check out the shower and cook a meal over the fire.
The next day I explore the opposite side of the canyon: The Rock Pile Trail. There I find campers beyond where the trail ends.
The Deschutes river canyon trail would make a good day hike from Portland, Oregon.
