Bavarian chocolate layer cake (Prinzregententorte) is a real delight on my long list of cake recipes. The thin layer cake filled with chocolate cream and chocolate glazing. It can be a bit time consuming like many authentic German cakes, but the result is unquestionably the most amazing cake I ever had.

The Bavarian prince who invented the cake must be a dessert baking genius. Another great invention from the region, besides of Bavarian beer.

Ingredients：12 portions

For the layer cake
4 eggs
1 tsp lemon juice
200g soft butter
120g caster sugar
2 packs vanilla sugar
150g flour
50g corn starch
1 pinch baking powder

For the chocolate cream
2 egg yolks
40g corn starch
400ml cold milk
100g dark chocolate
150g butter (optional)
125g powder sugar (optional )

For the glazing
200g dark chocolate
2 tbsp vegetable oil
