Two matching BNSF SD40-2s are seen leading a Northtown Yard to Grand Forks manifest with a fouled sounding K3LA horn. The two classic 40s look wonderful in relatively fresh BNSF paint, and waste no time lugging a large manifest west. We start off in Elk River, as the train snakes and roars through the large S curve in town. After this, we beat it to Big Lake and first hear the K3LA horn as it surges past in run 8. We'll see the train a handful more of times before calling the chase off in Rice. It is always a treat to see these classics from the 70s still roaming, and leading mainline freights on the railroad in Minnesota. It would appear that BNSF has no plans to get rid of these classics anytime soon.
