Crest 6 is a new Doppelmayr D-Line 6 pack that replaced an older Doppelmayr model built in 1991. It is the first D-Line in Utah ever (after 2022’s cancellation of Park City’s Silverlode which was gonna be a D-Line 8) This lift is among the 2nd direct drive in Utah after Alta’s Sunnyside 6 last year. This lift also runs 20% faster than regular detachables at 1181 fpm (6 m/s) making it the fastest detachable lift in Utah. The old Crest interestingly had room for 2,800 an hour but never met the mark since it ran slower than its design speed, more around 2,400. Unlike most other D-line lifts, Crest 6 has no footrests unlike the old Crest which did and has no bubbles due to little space for a parking barn. This lift is already a workhorse at Brighton running from 9 a.m - 9 p.m especially for night skiing and even during summer operations. This lift is setting the future to what ski lifts in Utah will be and is a flagship to what Brighton will offer for decades to come.
This ran a lot faster than other lifts I ride during summertime. Crest 6 was also the first lift in Utah to feature self-serve bike racks which thanks to its clever tire spacing felt so easy for someone like me using it for the first time.
