Hello friends. This is part 2 of 4 as we ascend the Lehigh and New England railroads Lehigh Gap Palmerton spur. This line was put into service in 1914 to interchange with the Chestnut Ridge railway. The Chestnut Ridge transported three major commodities. Brick, sand for Bethlehem Steel and Zinc for the Eastern smelting plants in Palmerton. The LNE probably interchanged these items with the Chestnut Ridge. The LNE had major coal hauling rights with the Lehigh Coal company but that was way north of here. The name of the creek is the Aquashicola. Sorry if I got something wrong in this. I have learned a few things since recording this and the following two videos so you may hear some errors that I am trying to fix in the description of each video. Thank you for watching. 5/17/25
