NOTE: Updated specs... see below for a smaller, more compact design and link to show comparison of both handles along with a standard 20 pound Kettlebell.
Tutorial on how to make a homemade Kettlebell using parts you can find at your local hardware store. Rather than making a basic T-style handle I decided to create a D-style handle to better replicate an actual Kettlebell. Holds up to four 10 pound plates or a mixture of various other sizes.
Parts needed (old version, as assembled in the video)
3/4" Tee X 1
3/4" Flange Plate X 1
3/4" 90 Degree Bend Elbows X 4
3/4" Nipples - 4" long X 3
3/4" Nipples - 2" long X 2
3/4" Nipple - 8" long X 1 (which you'll have cut down to approximately 6")
New (and better) version, same design with smaller parts to make a more compact handle:
3/4" Tee X 1
3/4" Flange Plate X 1
3/4" 90 Degree Bend Elbows X 4
3/4" Nipples - 4" long X 1 (for nipple that attaches handle to flange plate)
3/4" Nipples - 2" long X 2 (replaces 2 of the 4" nipples, used for the sides of the handle)
3/4" Nipples - 1.5" long X 2 (replaces the 2" long nipples used on either side of the Tee)
3/4" Nipple - 4.5" long X 1 (replaces the 8" nipple you need to cut down to about 6")
Note, this new design should be extremely tight, and quite difficult to fit together, but worth the modification!
Here is the picture of the two sizes along with comparison to a standard 20 pound Kettlebell:

Additional:
1 1/2" PVC pipe to create spacers.
Locktight
Duct tape or athletic tape for handle if desired.
Thanks for watching.
