Karasev is a spicy snack, best for evening , with a cup of tea. Paati makes this using her years old recipe, which was passed from her grandma..And it is a no fail recipe..
Preparation Time : 20 to 25 minutes
Frying Time: 2 to 3 mins per batch
Ingredients:
Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan-2 cups
Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu -1 cup
Chilli Powder- 3 tbsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kayam – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for Deep Frying
Method:
1) Take gram flour and rice flour in a bowl and add in salt…Mix this together..
2) Now add in the chilli powder and hing….mix well..
Gradually add in water and make into a slightly sticky dough..
3)Take your desired mould(Achu) and fill it.. or the kara seva palakai…
4) Now heat oil for deep frying….Directly pipe the whole lot straight in the oil..
5) Fry till it turns crispy and remove on a paper towel… or a pierced plate with holes.
6)let it cool completely..
7) Store this in a air tight container for several weeks..
Choices…
You can add pepper if you feel to add to, incase you feel you need that aroma!
