FFXI - RDM Divine Might solo (Very Difficult)

This was a fun one. I'd recommend any RDM interested in soloing attempt this at least a few times, even on a lower difficulty. The first few minutes are fairly luck based, but after EV is defeated it becomes a lot more reliant on your own ability. This can certainly be completed much faster than I did, given how defensively I played towards the end, but a win is a win. Trusts are unfortunately required as of writing this, but who knows what'll be possible in the future?


EV and HM are obviously the main problems here. EV has Shield Strike, the strongest AoE by far in Dominion Slash, and usually starts buffed with Blink and sometimes other buffs. Arrogance Incarnate is still instant death if it hits a solo RDM. HM doesn't buff himself unless you're in range of his casts, but Mighty Strikes can eliminate you in less than a second and he has NIN's Resist Bind trait. This can proc even against Stymie'd Bind, by the way, and if he resists the first Bind it's basically over. EV is engaged immediately after the first two Binds to ensure no Stun until MR is Bound and the pets are Slept.


I eventually went with the order of EV, MR, GK, TT, HM for a few reasons. EV obviously needs to die first to avoid Stunlock, Dominion Slash, and Arrogance Incarnate. Killing EV before Benediction goes off (she can't use it under Invincible) is a massive help. While trusts are only really needed for EV, having a tank alive to absorb MR's Charm (and tank Cloudsplitter) is very helpful. GK is a pain, but manageable even when all trusts are dead to him or HM. GK and MR's pets can both be killed by a single Tier V nuke, but are resummoned too quickly to be worthwhile until their summoner is defeated. TT is absolutely crippled by RDM's Addle, so avoiding Amon Drive becomes the only issue there. Once HM is the only enemy left, he can be deaggroed with Gravity to allow for resummoning of Trusts. Watch how much damage Cross Reaver does to my tanks to figure out why I wanted to face him last with a fresh Trust set. It is possible to beat HM as solo RDM without trusts, but it takes a long time and one mistake can result in death.


The main reasons I called the Trusts I did were to have bodies to absorb Arrogance Incarnate and ensure at least one tank survived to negate Charm. The second set of Trusts for the solo HM fight is solely to avoid HM destroying me with Mighty Strikes or Brazen Rush. I tried using Ulmia for Marches, and AoE heal trusts like Iroha II and Selh'teus, but they either never lived past EV or didn't really do much. Gessho over AAHM is only because AAHM doesn't act like a tank if there's another tank Trust out (or Monberaux, because he's a PLD for some reason). Apururu might be viable for Curaga if you can keep her alive. It's worth noting that this was completed outside of the +50% Trust HP/MP Campaign, which would make this significantly easier.
