William Leonard Pickard spent 20 years in prison charged with conspiracy to manufacture LSD. It is still the biggest case of its kind in history. On 27th July 2020, William was released from serving two life sentences in a maximum-security federal prison. Whilst in prison, he wrote, with pencil and paper alone, an immense semi-autobiographical novel: The Rose of Paracelsus, while continuing his academic research into civil liberties and drug reform. His interview with Anya Oleksiuk from the Psychedelic Society is his first public appearance since his release.
