We set off from Glenridding along the Ullswater Way at 9am arriving at Pooley Bridge a few hours later after a fairly gentle hike with no real height gain.
After a quick pitstop ( a pint 😃) we set off on the second leg, but rather than go up to the cockpit stone circle, we decided to save time and do a bit of roadwork to Howtown and up and over Martindale Car Park.
We then dropped down to the valley floor to pick up some water before ascending up to Place Fell to camp for the night with most of the walk done.
The following morning it was an easy descent down to Patterdale, and a trod back to Glenridding to finish.
Approx 20 miles total and 3500 ft of ascent.
