Morning and evening at Carlisle.

The Class 99 had been taken to the DRS depot at Kingmoor for secure overnight layover during more gauging tests between Crewe and Carlisle. We see it being taken south.

A pair of West Coast Class 37s take three Mark 2 carriages north to Fort William to improve the stock already being used on the Jacobite.

Beacon Rail / GB Railfreight's 66747 took a single purple coach south from Hamilton to Arlington at Eastleigh. That livery for the Belmond Brittanic Explorer looks very different. I look forward to seeing the Brittanic Explorer charters in service in July.

The southbound Tesco train stopped at Carlisle, I assume for a crew change but also to allow a fitter to make adjustments to a cab door lock!

We see the DRS sand train heading to Kingmoor depot for storage over the weekend.

Class 37s topped and tailed the Network Rail test train laid over in the Holding Sidings at Carlisle.

Then the highlight, the 3 Peaks by Rail Challenge train arrived from Ravenglass on its third leg, to Fort William. It stopped at Carlisle for a crew change.

So quite a vriety at Carlisle today!
