Here’s how a simple $150 mod completely changed my 540i, and how it might help you fix understeer in any of your more modern BMWs.

In this video, I show how a simple junkyard rear sway bar from an M8/M5 completely changes how this car drives… and might just make it feel like an old-school BMW again. I also provide a brief description of how rear sway bars work, and a tutorial on rear sway bar installation for the G30 BMW 5 Series (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 530, 540). To finish off, I give G30 540i handling impressions on a mountain road with the new modification.
