Some people warn Muslims to not associate much with non-Muslims due to the influence that might take place in the Muslims' faith. The consequence of this is that some Muslim communities have become insular. Moreover, it is sometimes believed that following non-Muslims in anything implies rejecting loyalty to Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This video explores the concept of "wala' wal bara'" in Islamic texts and what it means for the co-existence and interactions between Muslims and non-Muslims in society.
