Elsie's (Pat Phoenix) seldom seen Grandson Paul Cheveski (Nigel Greaves) makes himself at home at No. 11. Jerry (Graham Haberfield) is fixated on his boat and asks Len (Peter Adamson) for a loan to cover the costs of building it. Lucille (Jennifer Moss) asks Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) for a reference as she is keen on a job at the Mark Brittain Warehouse. Maggie is reluctant to do so which upsets Lucille. Maggie lets Minnie (Margot Bryant) do a few odd jobs in the corner shop as she wants to avoid Ena (Violet Carson) and Albert (Jack Howarth). Elsie and Alan (Alan Browning) take Paul out to Belle Vue. Paul enjoys the attractions as well as spending Alan's money. Jerry gets frustrated with Stan (Bernard Youens) for focusing on the boat rather than doing the jobs which they get paid for. Lucille lands the job on the strength of a forged reference from Maggie…
