Knowledge is power right? It's been a cliche' forever. So let me help you become more powerful. Over the past 40 years I have dug into many industrial disasters and workplace injuries trying to make a difference. My field is fires and explosions but regardless of what you're into, the information in this episode can help. In it I tell you about techniques I use to search the internet, public sources of information, Freedom in Information Act (FOIA) requests and most importantly showing up at clerk of courts offices in person to dig through files. I have used this kind of information to change the world. You too can change the world. Whether or not you want to be a whistleblower, someone who works on standards and codes committees as a volunteer, or you just want to know what really happened at a customer, client or your own work place. I talk about things "THEY" don't want you to know. We are all grown ups, this is the real world, there are many competing interests and often things are very difficult to find out for a reason.
