School uniform policies should set out guidelines for students on clothes that allow them to comfortably engage in school life, but can sometimes unintentionally discriminate. Abi Angus, Senior Researcher at the Centre for Education and Youth, chaired this panel discussion at the Festival of Education, on how school uniform policies can be designed to be inclusive of cultural, religious and gender differences.
Abi, Vanessa Joshua from CfEY, and a panel of teachers, young people, and legal practitioners, discuss the impact of discriminatory uniform policies on students, and how school communities have worked together to make sure their uniform is a good fit for all their students.
