Join us for a profound journey at the Mahone Cemetery, where we dedicate several days—and a month's worth of efforts—to restore and honor this historic site. In this video, we focus particularly on the grave of Manson Hamler, born in 1846, who most likely began his life in slavery. His grave, marked by the most impressive headstone in the cemetery, receives special attention as we carefully clean and preserve his memory.
The cleanup process involves clearing away cut trees and tidying the surroundings, a task made lighter by wonderful volunteers. A big thank you to Joy, Paula from the Murder Most Southern YouTube channel, and her daughter for their invaluable help and companionship throughout this project.
