-Teaching children with Down syndrome to wait. The most important skill for potty training.
-Teaching children how to wait appropriately is so important when it comes to situations such as: waiting to go outside, waiting for a preferred item, waiting to begin an activity, waiting in line, etc.

~When A child is able to really understand how to wait appropriately and patiently for whatever it is they may want, those skills will transfer over to many more areas of life than just successfully using the potty chair.

-If you are struggling to figure out natural ways to get your child to practice appropriately waiting for whatever it is they want, try something like:
~ If your child is waiting for a preffered item like a battery operated toy, tell them "We are waiting for the toy while I change out the batteries" "Use your waiting hands"
