Bolsjevikvisan (The Bolshevik Song) is a socialist folk song written by the Swedish musician and comedian Skånska Lasse (Theodor Larsson) in 1920. This version was recorded by actor and communist Sven Wollter in 2009.
The mocking of anticommunists might not have been intended in the original (which probably was more of a funny song about current events at the time). But when famously communist actor and singer Sven Wollter recorded this version and included it together with socialist songs on his album Sånger från tjugonde seklet, it was clearly meant to satirize over the anti-communist fear of even seeing a newspaper with communist leanings. That makes it an example of a Swedish communist folk music.
This is a channel where I translate Swedish socialist and communist music (mostly from the 1970s but also other eras). This includes worker songs, anti-capitalist songs and Vietnam songs. Subscribe to support the channel and not miss any of the upcoming videos!
