This episode nearly broke me. The non-stop shelling, the fear, the losses. It was incredibly hard to watch. Seeing what happened to Guarnere and Joe Toye, and the mental toll it took on Buck, was absolutely heartbreaking. Lieutenant Dike’s incompetence made me furious, but Spiers’ leadership moment was one of the most powerful scenes of the entire series. Lipton’s narration tied it all together beautifully. This was a brutal, emotional, and unforgettable episode.
