Juicers Vintage Appliance Tour

There was a time when bottled juice was an extravagance, and many people regularly squeezed their own juice, especially orange juice. The market was filled with all types of juices, from simple glass bowls that had a reamer in the center, to pressure juicers that would press the fruit down and squeeze the juice out. Then there were all kinds of electric models and juicer attachments for stand mixers, too.

If you've ever had a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice (from actual juicing oranges) you know how good it tastes! For the most part, we have given up squeezing our own oranges as buying ready-made juice has become less expensive and more convenient, but these wonderful vintage appliances and tools remind us of a time when Americans felt it was well worth the effort to make our own orange and grapefruit juice!
