A Quote from the Lavender Line website about this rail bus -
"Late 2008 saw the arrival of a railbus built by Wickham's in 1958 and powered by a Meadows diesel engine and an auxiliary diesel generator which was used to supply power for the track recording equipment. It was used by Derby technical centre as a laboratory vehicle It now has 28 seats for passengers and has been passed by HMRI for public use. It is hoped this will offer comfortable rides for our visitors when the weather is not so good."
