Train 1M16 is the normal headcode for the southbound Caledonian Sleeper from Inverness. Normally this train used two locomotives mostly a Class 66 paired with a 73 or in some cases two 73s, however the class 66 that was booked to haul the sleeper that night failed with brake problems leaving 73970 to haul this train all on it's own. what happened that night is normally avoided due to the fact that class 73s on their own tend to do a terrible job with getting over the massive hills at Culloden, Slochd and Drumochter. The last time a single class 73 did this run successfully all on its own was back in early 2022 or in 2021. I do apoligise for releasing this late!
