Based in the charming town of Amherst, Nova Scotia, Deanne is a celebrated rug hooking artist, author, and teacher known for her rich, textural work and thoughtful reflections on creativity.

Through her art and writing - including her beloved Sunday Letters - Deanne invites us to slow down, connect with beauty, and embrace art as a meaningful part of everyday life.

In her new workshop, “The Hit and Miss Tradition: Making a Hooked Coaster,” you’ll learn the foundational techniques of rug hooking in a small, approachable format. Using simple tools and colourful wool, you’ll create a beautiful hand-hooked coaster - perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.

Deanne has exhibited her work in public galleries, written eight books on rug hooking, and continues to teach and inspire a global community through her studio and online classes.
