Plaza de España in Seville, Spain, is one of the city's most iconic landmarks, blending Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival (Neo-Mudéjar) architectural styles. Built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, it was designed by Spanish architect Aníbal González.

Semi-circular building: The plaza is framed by a large, curved palace that symbolizes Spain embracing its former American colonies.

Canal and bridges: A 500-meter canal runs along the front, with four beautifully tiled bridges representing the ancient kingdoms of Spain (Castile, Aragon, Navarre, and León).

Colorful ceramic tiles (azulejos): These adorn every corner, especially the 48 tiled alcoves representing each province of Spain, arranged alphabetically.

Central fountain: A large fountain by Vicente Traver adds grandeur to the plaza's open space.

Blend of styles: The building showcases a mix of Art Deco, Baroque, and Moorish influences.


Today, Plaza de España is used for government offices, public events, and tourism. It has also served as a film location in movies like Star Wars: Episode II and Lawrence of Arabia.
