Due to lockdown with reference to the COVID 19 people have faced so many issues. The same thing happened in India as it did in the rest of the world. Many suffered. The closure of work has made life difficult for the people. Even in Mumbai, many small and big factories closed down and people lost their jobs. Companies, offices, malls, cinemas, shops were closed and people had to stay at home. Many had to be admitted to different hospitals and covid centers for treatment due to low oxygen levels in their bodies. Meanwhile, many people lost their lives due to Covid 19 disease.

On the other hand, apart from caste, some organizations, some philanthropists came forward and helped the needy in the society. Packets of food, water, biscuits, bananas, fruits, rations, clothes, food, grains and many other essentials were delivered to the people. In Dharavi, a Muslim community distributed food to the needy for several days. Numerous hungry people took advantage of it to satisfy their hunger.       

On the other hand, at Nala Sopara, there was a long line of people filling water. Mohammed Javed, who was filling the water there, said a lot while expressing his grief. He expressed his views on water scarcity as well as alcoholism.

         I was surprised to see a huge queue outside the liquor shop at Charkop in Kandivali. Liquor shops were closed for about a month and a half after the lockdown. When it opened, people bought large quantities of alcohol and quenched their thirst. On the other hand, the vegetable seller next to the shop was seen waiting for the customers. This means that people love alcohol more than food, rather than water. People took boxes of liquor home at spend more money.
