Dr. Georgi Yankov: AI Myths and Urban Legends about Personality

In this talk Georgi Yankov gives an engaging presentation on a few Urban Myths regarding AI-based assessment. Dr. Georgi Yankov is a Senior Scientist of Assessment Innovation at Hogan Assessment Systems. He is recognized for his expertise in the fields of psychometrics, individual differences, and scientifically backed tools for assessing various human characteristics such as personality, intelligence, creativity, burnout, and integrity. Throughout his career, Georgi has directed and contributed to cutting-edge projects in the realms of personality and intelligence tests, work attitudes surveys, competency models, and organizational diagnosis consultancy. At his previous positions with DDI, Georgi has developed several LLM-powered products and AI infrastructure solutions which score written responses to behavioral simulations with reliability that exceeds human assessors. His extensive work has culminated in numerous publications, including papers in journals such as Personnel Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, the Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, and Journal of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology. Furthermore, his leading-edge work has been showcased at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology annual conferences. He has published a book on the forensic applications of MMPI and a popular science book in personality psychology (Personality: User’s Guide). Georgi earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Sofia University, Bulgaria. He obtained master’s degrees in I-O psychology from Sofia University, Bulgaria as well as Baruch College (CUNY) as a Fulbright Scholar. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University.
