Week 65 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and "sub-time-lapses" at various speeds, condensing the week of April 26 - May 1, 2021, into about 50 minutes.
Lots of crane action this week, with two different sized cranes. The first, smaller crane removes the remaining pieces of the lift that we saw taken down in the prior episode. The second, larger crane puts up the pre-cast panels where the lift used to be. The first part of the panels on Wednesday is lower down, where we can't see. However, the second part on Thursday is higher up, where we can see the panels going in.
While that is going on, the snap covers or caps are being installed around the vents above the lower curtain wall.
On Saturday, a trench is dug in the street where the water supply will be brought into the building, and new fire hydrant will be added on the corner. The actual piping will be seen in a future episode.
I had some issues with color correction and lighting issues this week, that I was never fully happy with, but I ran out time to tinker with it.
Hope you enjoy the episode!
Scheduling note that won't matter to those watching this years from now, but for those watching this series as it unfolds:
There will be a delay before the next episode (Week 66). Good news for me... for the first time since the pandemic started, I am taking a trip out of town. But, the bad news is that the next episode won't get made until I return, in either 1 or 2 weeks (I don't know yet whether it will be a 1 or 2 week gap). The series is far from over, so I hope you'll join me when it resumes!
