Fairview British Columbia is nothing more than a ghost town now, but back in the 1890s, it was as wild as the west could be! This is a story that my Grandad, Russ Overton heard first hand from Steve Mangott himself. A story of gold bars, an armed robbery, and a chance meeting on a train many years later. Also, this video will add some clarification to another local legend, "The Lost Gold Bars Of Camp McKinney". There are many local legends in the southern interior Okanagan, Boundary and Similkameen areas of BC, Mainly due to the wealth that was being sough through mineral exploration. With that wealth came the chance of loosing said wealth. And over time, those stories have sometimes been intertwined. I hope you enjoy the video! At the end i will play a short audio clip of my grandfather doing his best to re-tell the story.... he was in his early 90's and the timeline is a bit skewed, but its interesting just the same!
