This addition to the 3 Things Done Well series features Nashville Predators star Juuse Saros. The low-hanging fruit would have been to say he's fast and highly mobile, but this video dives into 3 different areas of his game that I think he does well.
1: Hand positioning. I speak to his reduced counter-rotation, meaning there's not a lot of swinging the arms when loading up to rotate for a push to a new angle. Likewise, he holds his hands in a strong position to fill the box and more importantly, maintains that positioning during his movement or a drop to his butterfly.
2. Game management: Freezing or covering pucks depending on the scenario. This seems obvious but there's a specific series in a game against Toronto that I highlight.
3. Game management: puck-handling, specifically after he's stopped a dump or a rim, he'll often look to make a play with it only to re-load and make a better decision, based on what's happening with the forecheck. He's not afraid to handle the puck, and it serves his team well to regain possession and avoid a lot of hits.
