Would you like to learn about the 5 Tastes of Japanese Cuisine and Japanese Seasonings? In this video, we explain the 5 tastes and Japanese Seasonings:
1. Salty: Soy Sauce, Miso
2. Sweet: Mirin (Sweet Sake)
3. Sour: Japanese Vinegar
4. Bitter: There are no specific seasonings, but Green Tea
5. Umami: Dashi
Sake is not included in the above 5 tastes, but it is used to absorb smells and tenderize meat.
We also explain the combination of different tastes such as:
