It’s Wednesday, April 10th, and I’m at Rye (Sussex). Opened by the South Eastern Railway on February 13th, 1851, along their line from Ashford to Hastings (the Marshlink Line). The route is unelectrified, with services being operated using Class 171 DMUs built in the early 2000s by Adtranz and later Bombardier Transportation. Various proposals to electrify the route have been put forward, but at the time of this videos release, they have yet to come to fruition and remain stagnant. It was a very windy day and I apologise for the excessive wind noise throughout the video. Despite this I enjoyed filming here and hope to do so again.
