This recipe is perfect for beginners - the infamous Joe's Ancient Orange Mead (JAOM or JOAM), and it'll have you making mead at home in no time! The best part of this simple mead recipe is that it allows anyone to make mead, even non-homebrewers, because it requires no special brewing techniques or equipment - everything can be bought from your local grocery! Joe's Ancient Orange Recipe, 1 gallon -
3 1/2 pounds of honey
1 whole orange
1 cinnamon stick
1 clove
Water to 1 gallon
1 pack of Fleischmann's bread yeast (not the instant stuff)

Mix all the ingredients together and pitch yeast. Install airlock and bottle when all the oranges sink to the bottom and the mead is cleared. Super easy!
