Join us as we circuit the incredible Cheddar Gorge in Somerset….the UK’s version of The Grand Canyon (apparently!)
When we eventually managed to tear ourselves away from Farro bakery in Bristol (5000 calories later….) we drove 40 minutes to the North end of Cheddar Gorge in the Mendip Hills, in order to burn off some of the sugar we consumed at breakfast. We hiked the 5 mile circuit of both limestone ridges and had lunch in the delightful village of Cheddar, taking the opportunity to buy some cheddar which had been aged in the caves at the gorge.
The Autumnal colours were a stunning backdrop to the vertiginous cliff faces and we enjoyed the sights, sounds (and scents) of the wild goats.
