South Bend Heavy 10 Tool Room lathe, 1946. Condition of: ways, apron, tailstock, etc. In operation cutting alloy steel. No belt slippage even with heavy cut and alloy steel. Collet system, VFD, taper attachment. Bearing clearances adjusted with new shims. New belt. Chasing cross-feed nut threads to match cross-feed leadscrew.
Note at 5:24, I meant to say the spindle has nine-tenths of a thousands clearance. The minimum clearance as specified as seven-tenths of a thousands. Sorry for the mistake.
