Waiting to hear about your surgery can be daunting, anxiety-inducing, and nerve-wracking. It's important to have questions prepared for your doctor, medical provider, surgeon, and/or GP after your endometriosis surgery so that you feel calm, cool, collected, and prepared for your appointment.
Some of the key questions that I would ask after endometriosis surgery to help with pain management and endometriosis treatment is:
1. Did you find endometriosis and/or have you conducted a biopsy for endometriosis?
2. Do my incisions look like they are healing well?
3. Where did you locate endometriosis lesions and/or adhesions in my body?
4. Were you able to excise (or remove) all of the endometriosis lesions and tissue present?
5. What stage of endometriosis do I have? A reminder that there are 4 stages of endometriosis that have been reported.
6. Did you notice damage to surrounding organs?
7. What are the next steps to help me in my healing journey?
What are some other questions that you would ask, or have asked, after your endometriosis excision and/or ablation surgery? Feel free to comment them down below as they might help others in their endometriosis journey!
