The Queen Square Brain Bank (QSBB), one of the largest brain banks in the world, is developing a world-leading AI-centred brain tissue resource known as Reta Lila Weston BRAIN platform.
Using machine learning, they’re analysing 2,500 donated brain and spinal cord samples to uncover new insights into Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The construction of the new AI platform is a collaboration between the QSBB and AI researchers in UCL Computer Science and the UCL Hawkes Institute.
In this video, Dr Zane Jaunmuktane talks about the promise of AI for transforming how we diagnose and treat neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer's disease.
