Saco (intermediate) to Upper Ptarmigan to White Horse to Lower Ptarmigan (all advanced) is a ski run of varying difficulty located on Attitash Peak at Attitash Mountain Resort. The trails run from the summit of Attitash Peak to the Attitash Base Area. The run starts as Upper Saco, an intermediate trail, which starts off to the left when coming off of the Summit Triple chairlift. The trail runs pretty straight and mellow. The trail then comes to an intersection where Saco takes a sharp right, and Upper Ptarmigan begins straight/to the slight left, which is what I took in this video. Upper Ptarmigan, an advanced trail, begins with a steep, and a relatively long drop. The trail then passes underneath the Summit Triple chairlift and into two more shorter, but possibly steeper, drops. Before the rating change, Upper Ptarmigan was rated as a double black diamond. The trail then merges with Upper Highway, right next to the top of the Flying Yankee Quad. At that time, I stayed to the slight left to White Horse. White Horse is an advanced trail but is not too difficult. The trail starts out with a medium-steep section, then quickly flattens out. The trail then merges onto Lower Ptarmigan, which is also an advanced trail. Ptarmigan runs pretty flat underneath the Flying Yankee Quad until it reaches the Attitash Base Area.
Attitash Mountain Resort is a ski area located in Bartlett, New Hampshire, which is located in the Mount Washington Valley Region of the state. The Valley is also home to the towns of Jackson and Conway and is also home to many other ski areas. Attitash is comprised of two peaks, Attitash Peak and Bear Peak. Attitash Peak is home to many classic, narrow, and fun New England-style ski trails, while Bear Peak is home to most of the resort's wide-open groomers and terrain parks. The ski area is also home to a hotel (the Grand Summit), a mountain coaster, and a lot of summer attractions such as an alpine slide, zip-lines, and some waterslides. In the summer of 2019, the ski resort was purchased by Vail Resorts from Peak Resorts, meaning the ski area is now a destination on the Epic Pass.
