ඔකන්ද දේවාලය...... 🙏🙏🙏

ඔකන්ද යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නැගෙනහිර වෙරළ තීරයේ කුමන ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයට නිල පිවිසුමේ පිහිටි කුඩා ගම්මානයකි. කුමන ජාතික වනොද්‍යානයට ඇතුලු වීමට පෙර, මුහුද දෙසට ඇති කුඩා මංතීරුව ඔබව ඔකන්ද දේවාලය වෙත ගෙන යනු ඇත. කතරගම දෙවියන් මුලින්ම ආවේ ඔකද මුහුදු වෙරළට කියලා කියනවා. වල්ලි කියන වැදි තරුණිය හොයාගෙන පැමිණි කතරගම දෙවියෝ මුලින්ම ඇය පිළිබඳව දෙමළ භාෂාව කතා කරන පිරිසකගෙන් අදහස් විමසලා තියෙනවා. නමුත් ඔවුන් ඒ අවස්ථාවේ නිවැරදි පිළිතුරක් දීලා නෑ. පසුව සිංහල භාෂාව කතා කරන මුහුදු වැද්දන්ගෙන් තොරතුරු අහලා තියෙනවා. ඔවුන් ස්කන්ධ කුමාරයාට ඒ ගමන් මාර්ගය පෙන්නලා උදව් කළා කියලා කියනවා. මෙන්න මෙතනදී තමයි කතරගම පාදයාත්‍රාවේ පසුබිම් කතාව නිර්මාණය වෙන්නේ. කතරගම දෙවියන් තමන් කවුද කියන දේ ඔප්පු කලාට පස්සේ තමන්ට උදව් නොකළ නිසා දෙමළ භාෂාව කතා කරන පිරිසට දඬුවමක් වශයෙන් පාගමනින් පැමිණ තමන්ව වැඳ පුදා ගන්න කියලා අණ කරලා තියෙනවා. එදා ඉඳන් ශත වර්ෂ ගණනාවක් තිස්සේ දහස් ගානක් දමිළ ජනතාව කතරගම දෙවියන්ව වැඳ පුදා ගන්න ඉතා භක්තිමත්ව පාගමනින් කතරගමට එනවා. ඒ එන අතරමග තමයි මේ ඔකඳ දේවාලය පිහිටලා ති යෙන්නේ බොහෝ හාස්කම් ඇති තැනක් විදිහට තමයි මේ දේවාල පරිශ්‍රය සැලකෙන්නේ. දෙමළ සිංහල වෙනසක්නැතිව බැතිමතුන් මෙතෙන්ට පැමිණෙනවා.සති අන්ත දිනවල නම් විශාල බැතිමතුන් ප්‍රමාණයක් මේ ස්ථානයේ දැකගන්න පුළුවන් .
වාර්ෂික කතරගම පාද යාත්‍රාවේ ගමන් කරන බැතිමතුන් සඳහා, ඔකද යනු කුමන සහ යාල වනාන්තරයට ඇතුළු වීමට පෙර අවසාන රැස්වීම් ස්ථානය වන අතර පසුව ඔවුන් කතරගගම දේවාලය දෙසට සති ගණනාවක් පුරා ඇවිදීම දිගටම කරගෙන යනු ඇත. බැතිමතුන් ඔකන්දෙහි මුරුගන් (හින්දු ජාතිකයින් සඳහා කතරගම දෙවියාගේ ස්වරූපයක්) කෝවිලට නමස්කාර කර වනාන්තර හරහා ආරක්ෂිත ගමනක් සඳහා මුරුගන්ගේ ආශිර්වාදය ලබා ගන්නවා....

Okanda Dewalaya .....

Okanda is a small village located at the official entrance to the Kumana National Park on the east coast of Sri Lanka. Before entering the Kumana National Park, a small path towards the sea will take you to the Okanda Temple. It is said that the Kataragama God first came to the Okada seashore. The Kataragama God, who came in search of a Vedda girl named Valli, first asked a group of Tamil-speaking people about her. But they did not give a correct answer at that time. Later, he asked the Sinhala-speaking Veddas for information. They are said to have helped Prince Skanda by showing him the way. This is where the background story of the Kataragama Padayatra is created. After proving who he was, the Kataragama God ordered the Tamil-speaking people to come and worship him as a punishment. Since then, for centuries, thousands of Tamil people have been walking to Kataragama with great devotion to worship the Kataragama god. This temple is located on the way and is considered a place of many miracles. Devotees come here without any distinction between Tamil and Sinhala. A large number of devotees can be seen here on weekends.
For devotees who are on the annual Kataragama foot pilgrimage, Okada is the last meeting point before entering the Kumana and Yala forests, after which they continue their walk for weeks towards Kataragama temple. Devotees worship the Murugan (a form of the Kataragama god for Hindus) temple at Okanda and seek the blessings of Murugan for a safe journey through the forests.
