In this acrylic painting tutorial we paint a peanut-eating blue jay at the feeder. We will use the wintry phthalo blue and yellow ochre to cool the atmosphere and a brighter blue to bring the blue jays forward. The mini tutorial includes includes tips on color, layering, and the simplification of the complicated lattice-work on the back of one peanut-eating jay. At the end of 20 minutes we will have painted a sharp-billed peanut-eating blue jay! (Acrylic #17)
