California Chromes has the heart of a lion; he is fearless and brave, and he likes to conquer the racetrack, like a warrior and hero for the people. Watch him go do battle and then watch him dance his way off the stage after each victory. California Chrome is courageous to have traveled across the world on a few occasions to become a world class champion.

In Dubai, he was made to run a handicap race from lane 1, with up to 30 pounds more than his competition and he won like a breeze. Then he ran wide from lane 11, almost losing his saddle and romped the field in the World Cup. Then he repeated another handicap victory in San Diego in July; with a spectacular showdown against Dortmund. He followed that up at the Pacific Classic, by romping some top notch horses again (including Beholder and Dortmund); and Chrome did it from lane 1 by five lengths while cantering down his speed.

California Chrome began the year with confidence, winning the GII San Pasqual in January. He took that win and went undefeated 5 for 5 by August 20th. He became the most successful North American racehorse in history. He set himself up to go to the Breeder’s Cup Classic as the odds favorite, and also he tops the list for Horse of the Year again, as of August.

What a great year it has been for California Chrome and his remarkable story continued; rising from humble beginnings in 2014 and then going on to higher places in life, reaching into the stratosphere becoming a future Hall of Famer. California Chrome and his team never gave up and they continued to inspire those who dream big.
