In this video I explain how to change horizontal (X) axis labels in an Excel chart.
If you want your horizontal axis labels to be different to those specified in your spreadsheet data, there are a couple of options:
1) In the Select Data dialog box you can edit the X axis labels by typing in new values, or
2) In the Select Data dialog box you can specify a different range for your category labels
If your horizontal category labels appear as a sequence of numbers (one through to x), then it is probably because Excel has interpreted your category labels as a series. This can also be resolved in the Select Data dialog box.
