Alchemy - Mystical Bellydance Transmutations was a Fusion Bellydance show in Helsinki on 14th of December 2024, produced by Studio Bastet. It was organized as a part of - and as a celebration of - the graduation from Studio Bastet Teacher Training program.
First part of the alchemical transmutation - the theme of the show - was NIGREDO. Death, decay, loss of identity, the black fertile earth that holds the potential of rebirth and new life.
Guest stars in our show, Sandy and Anna Afra a.k.a Flowers of Fury are a Helsinki/Espoo based duet of dancers that first came together over a decade ago in Tribal Tanssikeskus.
"Mirror mirror on the wall..." what happens to the beautiful new queen after the fairytale ends?
This piece explores the shared psyche of Snow-white and the evil queen, the repeating cycle of shame and judgement that leads her to madness and death.
