For the first time in 20 years, 'the worlds most famous steam locomotive', 60103 Flying Scotsman, would be seen at the head of the British Pullman stock, as she took the train to The Greatest Gathering event in Derby as part of the Rail200 celebrations.
The tour would set out from London Victoria and join the MML at Hendon, being diesel hauled as far as Kettering, where Scotsman, one of the steam locomotives on display at the event, would take over for the final stretch of the tour. This would also mark the A3 Pacific's first mainline railtour since 2023, having been mainly used for heritage railway visits in the past year.
Captured from Humble Lane in Cossington, we firstly see 67007 running light engine to Derby, having brought the tour to Kettering, before seeing Scotsman pass around 10 minutes later, unfortunately mostly drowed out by her saftey valves, but this didn't ruin the sight of her finally back on the Pullman stock after 2 decades.
