Lets head down to one of the most fun Fly-in's in Alaska!
Seldovia is about a two hour cub ride from Anchorage if you take the scenic route. "LOW AND SLOW". Or about an hour and a half if you get up high and go direct. Seldovia is not on the road system so you have to fly or boat in. There is the Seldovia Ferry that runs twice a day or commercial flights that run every hour or two if you would like to visit Seldovia. This isn't a big commercial plane, you will be riding in a small six passenger bush plane.
The Seldovia fly-in has been going on since 2018 and is an absolute blast of a good time. Lots of airplanes to check out. There is a free lunch, but take donations, on the day of the competition where all the pilots come together for the briefing. Setting the ground rules for the comp and assigning the order for take off in each class.
