Towards Personalised Medicine in Metastatic Prostate Cancer Through Statistical and AI-Based Analysis of PSMA PET/CT and SPECT/CT Scans
The proposal, Towards Personalised Medicine in Metastatic Prostate Cancer Through Statistical and AI-Based Analysis of PSMA PET/CT and SPECT/CT Scans, outlines a PhD project aiming to improve treatment for advanced prostate cancer by developing artificial intelligence tools that integrate pre-therapy PET and post-therapy SPECT/CT imaging. The research will evaluate and refine existing imaging-based response criteria, identify predictive biomarkers through systematic review and meta-analysis, and create deep learning models for automated lesion segmentation and radiomics analysis. These outputs will be combined into a personalised dosimetry framework to estimate tumour and organ radiation doses, link them to survival and toxicity outcomes, and ultimately guide patient-specific therapy adaptation. By bridging advanced imaging technologies with clinical decision-making, the project seeks to enable large-scale, consistent, and evidence-based approaches to personalised medicine in prostate cancer.
