I thought I'd have a go at converting the ZWO 5-position manual filter wheel (MFW) into an ASCOM-compliant electronic filter wheel (EFW), which took a bit of fiddling, but now it's done :-)
The cost for the parts plus the £69 for the ZWO MFW comes to about £86 in all, and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I've made it myself too.
If anyone is interested in having a go, I'll upoad the 3D files, circuit diagram, circuit board layout and the software to Instructables or somewhere similar.
Also check out my neat Celestron auxilliary port splittter solution at the end, which allows the CGX mount to support the hand controller, the focus motor and the StarSense all at once, keeping the cabling really neat too. That's another saving, as the Celestron equivalent is £26, and mine cost me about £3.50 :-)
